KHOSHAF - a traditional Middle Eastern Dried Fruit Salad

INGREDIENTS

1 cup ManiChef Apricots
1 cup ManiChef Prunes
1 cup ManiChef Figs
3/4 cup ManiChef Sultana Raisins
3/4 cup ManiChef Golden Raisins
5 tablespoons Honey (according to taste)
1 tablespoon Rose or Orange Blossom Water
1/2 cup ManiChef Almonds (chopped)
3 cups hot boiling water

METHOD

  1. Place all the ManiChef dried fruit in a large dish.
  2. Spoon the honey over the fruit and then pour enough hot water into the dish to cover the fruit. The water level in the dish should be about one inch above the fruits.
  3. Cover and let cool before refrigrating for about 24 hours.
  4. Sprinkle with chopped ManiChef Almonds and serve chilled.

Chef’s note

Honey can be replaced with sugar but the former is a healthier alternative. Koshaf may also be served with Mascarpone or Greek Yoghut or whipped cream.
